Dr. Russell has extensive experience in energy systems research and development. Former Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Mississippi State University and former Professor and Dean of the College of Engineering at three US universities: Boise State University, University of Alabama in Huntsville, University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Helped establish and manage major energy systems projects funded by NASA, US Department of Energy, Department of Defense, and Tennessee Valley Authority. Dr. Russell is the author of numerous publications in the field of energy systems, including a textbook on thermodynamics. He is a former scientist with NASA Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, and Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas (worked on energy systems management for the Apollo lunar landing program and on other programs for NASA). Also worked on energy systems projects for Lockheed and TRW Systems.
